A trip to Hawaii inspired me to paint this ocean scene using sunset lighting to bring together the different worlds of land and sea. I took artistic liberties for my clients, who are avid scuba divers. They wanted me to use their photography of sea life taken off the coast of Florida where we both live. They were thrilled with my final rendering that had every creature from their list using their photo's. I have sold full-sized Giclee prints to restaurants, Dr's waiting rooms and to homeowners. The colors are vivid, yet restful when viewing the scene as a whole.
This original painting measured 4' x 7' and was done as a tryptic, using two 24"x 48" and one 36" x 48" canvas, painted with oil paints over my acrylic underpainting.
