The original painting was done for my church. A framed keepsake print was given to all 150 woman attending our annual retreat. The open Bible represents "God's Written Word" that can show us the way we should go and tells us of His unfailing love. The beautiful red roses represent "God's Spoken Word" and the beauty of His creations. "God's Living Word" was expressed by creating a window frame with His light coming through the window showing God's love for us and His only Son. The shadow that is cast ends on the table, with Christ on the cross, to represent the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf and Christ's living word provided to us through the bible. The painting as a whole was meant for you to be drawn to a quiet time to seek God through His word.
